DungeonSwap Talks to us About Blockchain RPG Games and More

DungeonSwap

When it comes to RPG Games that have a decentralized component, we were stumped to discover that this niche within the cryptocurrency space had too few projects.

So, when we discovered the first RPG Blockchain game on Binance Smart Chain, we decided to find out more about them.

We decided to speak with the DungeonSwap team about RPG games and other issues.

Here is what they had to say.

E-Crypto News:

Please, can you tell us about DungeonSwap?

DungeonSwap is the first Defi-RPG game on the Binance Smart Chain.

Users may stake, earn DND tokens and get ready for their dungeon adventures.

Offering a fully functional Defi yield farm and staking pool ready for users to earn the DND tokens, DungeonSwap develops tabletop-RPG-style web game experience.

E-Crypto News:

What was your inspiration for creating the game?

Since the emergence of Defi and yield farming, I have been thinking about one simple question: how would money just come out of nowhere?

Why in the first place would these tokens be worth anything?

To many, this is still an open question and many people just don’t bother to answer or even think about this as long as they are earning a big sum of money out of these yield farms.

But we are asking something more than this.

Therefore we believe that if we want to run a sustainable business, we must make something that people would stay not only for the financial gain, but also for entertainment out of the activities they do on such Dapps.

To put it simple, we believe that fun is equally important to (if not more important than) financial gain.

Therefore DungeonSwap is dedicated to building sustainable, user-centric and entertaining decentralised ecosystems, as the game is based on the belief that gamification should not just be a gimmick.

Motivated to create games that, are above all else, fun and easy to use, DungeonSwap highlights the importance of generating value through enjoyment to attract gamers beyond the sector of hardcore crypto traders.

E-Crypto News:

What informed your decision to launch on the Binance SmartChain?

The large user base and low gas fee as compared to other blockchain options are the main driver.

This, however, is also one reason that attracted many low-quality projects to emerge on the platform, but our target is to stand out within the crowd and build a game that is fun to play while players can enjoy low gas fees.

E-Crypto News:

How has the experience been so far?

We have been developing the game since April 2021 and it was rolled out in late July.

It is exciting to see that a great amount of people are supporting our concept and they even give us feedback on revamping the game.

Our user base keeps growing and our game “The Dungeon” has transaction on the blockchain always, meaning the game is continuously being played.

E-Crypto News:

What do you think is coming next for the blockchain gaming space?

The emergence of “Play to Earn” introducing blockchain, and in specific blockchain games from a “Geek interest” to the mainstream market.

There will be more and more quality games like us with play to earn features entering the market.

With the introduction of different NFTs and the corresponding secondary market being a catalyst, I can only see the blockchain gaming space continue to thrive.

E-Crypto News:

How can the blockchain gaming space become a major driving force for the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies and their allied technologies?

Before blockchain gaming, there are many different initiatives being introduced including decentralized e-commerce, decentralized service providing, etc.

They are all good initiatives but still do not gain mass adoption because they lack the reason for users to use as compared to the service being provided by the big companies in a traditional way.

The emergence of Defi, and now GameFi that emphasize “fairness” and “inability to cheat”, is important when the experience is associated with monetary value.

E-Crypto News:

How did you get involved with cryptocurrencies and their underlying technologies?

I was a technology consultant from a global management consulting firm before starting DungeonSwap.

My profession was actuarial science and data science.

I have been a cryptocurrency investor since 2018 during the ICO crash, and since then I have been part time researching and studying about cryptocurrency, including learning the solidity programming language.

I saw the launch of BSC as an opportunity to realize my vision of building a sustainable, user-centric and entertaining decentralized ecosystem and thus I built DungeonSwap.

E-Crypto News:

How has 2021 been for DungeonSwap?

2021 is a great year for DungeonSwap.

We have been developing DND and the game since early this year, while the website has been officially launched in April and it has gained great support from our gamers and investors ever since.

We received great feedback from the gamers after the launch of the game in late July, therefore we are now developing version 2.0 to provide a much better experience to our beloved fans.

We are all looking forward to it!

E-Crypto News:

What are your thoughts on the recent efforts by world governments to regulate cryptocurrencies and their allied technologies?

Technically by nature no governments can stop people from using and trading Crypto.

We observe in some countries that the ban of crypto itself indicates the government’s lack of confidence in their own country’s currency.

Essentially those who ban crypto are either governments who fear losing control of everything in their country, or those whose people have low confidence in their own currencies.

E-Crypto News:

Do you have any plans of getting involved with the Non-Fungible token (NFT) space? Please, can you tell us the reasons for your answer?

We already are in the NFT space. Our equipment which is used in the game are all NFTs.

Players can use it to fight monsters in the dungeon, or to trade it for some financial gain.

Therefore players who may not even be interested in the game can own some equipment as their collection and later sell it to those who want to use it to enter the dungeon.

This creates a whole secondary economy.

E-Crypto News:

Please, can you explain to us the “play-to-earn” concept?

There is no one single definition for this concept.

But in general,it is a new business model that game developers would reward players for putting time and effort into their game ranging from cryptocurrencies to in-game resources that are tokenized on the blockchain.

At the very beginning, the original purpose of DungeonSwap’s design was to balance the DND generated in the yield farm vs the DND burnt in the Dungeon, resulting in a sustainable ecosystem from a long-term perspective.

However, we found out that gamers would love a pure P2E experience, that is why we are now developing a refined version to provide the best P2E experience to the gamers.

E-Crypto News:

Please, can you tell us more about the DND token?

Our token is designed to be in a “D20”, which is a 20-sided dice view.

We want to associate with the 20-sided dice because this is the spirit and the core element of all fantasy tabletop RPG games.

Essentially you couldn’t play a tabletop RPG game without a D20. Of course we skipped the numbers there to make it look like a “gem” or a “crystal” so it looks cool, right?

E-Crypto News:

Do you have any plans of launching your distributed ledger in the future? Please, can you tell us the reasons for your answer?

No. Our token is BEP20 token on the Binance Smart Chain.

In the future we may migrate to another blockchain but building our own distributed ledger (blockchain) costs a lot of infrastructure and resources which we don’t have plan for hit.

E-Crypto News:

In what ways do you think decentralized gaming will rule the global gaming industry?

It will slowly attract more traditional professional video game companies to collaborate with the crypto-oriented companies to make more and more attractive games into the area.

Gradually, people will no longer be satisfied with crypto games without real content.

E-Crypto News:

Please, can you tell us more about your decentralized finance (DeFi) yield farm?

Our yield farm contains our native currency only and without “foreign” currencies making our DND token is not easily exploited by selling pressure.

E-Crypto News:

Please, can you tell us more about your decentralized finance (DeFi) staking pool?

Similarly, our staking pool contains our native currency only and without “foreign” currencies making our DND token is not easily exploited by selling pressure.

E-Crypto News:

How can those who are interested play the DungeonSwap game?

They can go to dungeonswap.app and immediately start playing the game. Of course, there are few preparation they need to do, including:

  1. Have a Crypto wallet then go to our website via a Dapp browser (e.g. Metamask/Trustwallet)

  2. Get some BNB (can buy/transfer from Binance)

  3. Get some DND (they can buy on our website)

  4. Go straight to “The Dungeon” and start playing!

E-Crypto News:

Where do you see DungeonSwap in the next decade?

We see it grow to a stabilized and established state as a mature game, and become a famous brand. When people talk about decentralized RPG game, they think about DungeonSwap.

E-Crypto News:

Do you have any secrets you want to tell us? Care to spill the beans?

We are developing many more features, like weapon upgrading, PVP features, just like what you can experience on any console and traditional fantasy RPG games — but this time on the blockchain!

E-Crypto News:

If you had three wishes and a Genie that could make them come true, what would they be for DungeonSwap and the gaming space?

We wish…Everyone who knows about crypto will know about DungeonSwap

  1. DungeonSwap to become the top 10 most well-known cryptocurrency of all
  2. Everyone can enjoy and profit from playing/investing in dungeonswap.
