The Samsung Galaxy S10e is very close to a flagship despite costing a lot less than the rest of the range. There are some compromises, but for the most part they’re small.

If you can look past the water resistance and wireless charging, there are definitely more interesting phones. If those are must haves and you love the Samsung style, though, the Galaxy S10e is an interesting choice made for folks who love themselves a smaller phone.

For some, it may simply come down to size preference. If you prefer a smaller handset (less than 6 inches), the Galaxy S10e is an excellent option, with a high-end feature-set and strong all-around performance befitting a flagship phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e offers a great double camera setup on the rear with a 16mp ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12mp standard wide-angle camera with OIS. All cameras can record 4K video, and that includes the 10mp selfie on the front of the screen, which also benefits from Auto-Focus so that your selfies are actually in focus – unlike most other smartphones! The smartphone also benefits from a great Night mode that delivers great results, partly thanks to the bright f/1.5-2.4 aperture available in the main camera. The S10e, like the S10 and S10 Plus, deliver a great combination of features, style, and build quality, and we struggled to find fault with the smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy S10E is proof that phones don’t have to come in a giant footprint to be deemed powerful. Sometimes, the smallest packages pack the largest punch and the Galaxy S10E does just that. It’s performance and the camera quality is more or less similar to the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+. While you’re unlikely to miss the larger display or the extra cameras, the disappointingly short battery life is sure to rain on the S10E’s parade.

With affordable Android phones satisfying the masses, it’s getting harder to justify the $1,000 smartphone. It’s awesome to see Samsung offering the power of the S10 Plus in a much more compact form factor with very little compromise at a price hundreds less than the flagship. If you want a pocketable Android phone that has all of the latest technology, along with old tech like a 3.5mm headset jack and microSD card slot, you can’t beat the S10e.

A fantastic phone that proves Samsung can deliver top-end features for less – but the price difference isn’t so huge that you should forget the S10 exists.

Let’s be honest, I really like the Galaxy S10e, though I wish the battery life could have been better. That said, there’s nothing wrong with the Galaxy S10e. Its AMOLED display is great, performance is sold, the dual cameras are vastly improved but nowhere near Pixel 3’s camera, and OneUI feels surprisingly good.

It is one of today’s most powerful 5.8” smartphones you can get, whether you’re looking at the technical design, the display and camera quality or battery capacity. It’s just difficult to put so much tech in such a small phone!

Samsung’s Galaxy S10e might not be quite as impressive as the rest of the lineup, but its lower price offers a tempting proposition.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is almost as impressive as its pricier siblings, and it won’t hurt your wallet quite as much in the process.

By Neowin on April 27, 2019 90

To keep the cost of the S10e down, Samsung did of course remove some features which have been discussed in this review. However, we still have a phone that is packed with high end specs, retains the MicroSD card slot, headphone jack, is still IP68 water and dust resistant, has fast wireless charging and might even have faster 25W wired charging with a future update.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is an affordable flagship that punches high above its price point.

If you’re shopping on dollars alone, you’re not going to be looking at the S10e, if you’re looking for a flagship you may well be looking a touch higher in specs but Samsung have hit a really respectable middle ground with the S10e that will undoubtedly sell well with the brand placement that the Samsung Galaxy models have.
