When it comes to the meme coin space, there have been all kinds of bad news that have made people wary of the next Memecoin to be launched.
All that is changing though. A group of antiheroes has decided to bell the cat and police the space for themselves. Known as the Red Order, these antiheroes want to make up for a lost time by ensuring people are protected from the many scams that exist out there.
We reached out to Oscar Grouch (an alias) who is the spokesperson for the order. Here is what he had to say.

What is the Red Order?
Oscar Grouch: The Red Order is a villainous syndicate forged by 11 original members, known now as the Overlords. This cabal of super villains is bent on taking over the cryptoverse and building an army of henchmen along the way.

How did the concept come about?
Grouch: Ironically enough, the concept was inspired by a bunch of good guys looking for ways to raise the bar in a space filled with rug pulls, scams, and subpar projects. We were participants in other projects, and played by the rules; but more often than not, we were left in the wake of projects that took everything and disappeared.
It left a bitter taste in our mouths, damaged the sentiment in the space, and left others in hard positions. We figured a space that’s prominently dominated by this type of negative sentiment would hardly bend to the voice of a few “good guys.” But if these good guys were allowed to tap into their power and call on their villainous alter-egos to step into the crypto space and demand change, then maybe their voices would be heard.

What are the various problems that are occurring currently in the Meme Coin Space?
Grouch: The meme coin space is diluted with “projects” that try to ride current hype waves in the hopes of turning a quick profit. Unfortunately, this opens the way for rugs pulls and scam projects to make their way into the space under the guise of “the next big meme coin.” We’re seeing little-to-no value being offered within these projects, which in turn breaks the trust within the meme coin community.

How will the Red Order change everything?
Grouch: Changing everything is a large undertaking, and we’re not trying to portray ourselves as saviors in any sense. Our goal is to develop a project that cares less about quick profit and more about longevity and value. We hope that by focusing our efforts on branding, art direction, community building, and transparency, we can reinstill some trust in the meme coin space. We’d like to show that a premium “meme coin” project can exist, and maybe help change the overall sentiment in this space.

Is it possible for Anti-heroes to seek redemption?
Grouch: Interesting question. Rugpulls and scam projects are bad, no matter how you spin them, and the space is fed up with them. We think that the most important asset to any project is the community, and right now there is an overwhelmingly negative attitude towards meme coins due to the hijacking of the meme coin image by scammers. This organization changes that. It offers a place for people who are fed up to come together, have fun, and work on a project they believe in.
We think the redemption of our ‘anti-hero’ personas will come with time, when the project has reached its full potential, and the community has made a positive impact on the cryptoverse. Projects that approached this space with nefarious intent had smiles on their faces, and often portrayed themselves as the good guys. We have resolved to take no issue with being the unfavorables in the space, as long as we live up to the expectations the community has for our project.

How can players and members of the cryptocurrency space partake in the Red Order ecosystem?
Grouch: Upon launch of the token, members can join the Red Order by swapping for the token on Sushiswap. Members are welcome to stay connected with the project on most social media platforms, and in our telegram group. The Red Order plans to
produce premium art and entertainment content for our members’ enjoyment. Many of
the experiences will be determined under the influence of the community and its
vision. Our goal is to execute every aspect of the project at the highest levels. The
brand, the artwork, the entertainment pieces, all will be executed at the most
intentional and premium standards. There is plenty to do in the community, and we by
no means, are claiming to have a complete picture in mind for the project. Community
involvement will be huge to the direction and success of the project, so members are
encouraged to come into the community and exercise their talents for the betterment
of the project.

What are the features of the Red Order ecosystem?
Grouch: We’ve tailored the Red Order experience towards users who enjoy consuming comics, art, video games, and cosplay/roleplay. You’ll find a bit of each genre in The Red Order as we try to bridge the gap between communities. We plan to launch an NFT marketplace, branded merchandise, and limited edition collectibles, in the near future. Our long term vision includes a myriad of consumer entertainment products/projects.
In addition to the entertainment goals tied to the Red Order project, we also feature
“The One Good Thing,” a charitable cause connected to our project.
The launch team is committed to an honorable charity initiative. Supervillains have been a staple in most of our childhoods, always seeming to have motives driven by something deeper than bad intentions, and having reserved some goodness deep within. The Red Order operates under the same rules.
Through this initiative, The Red Order has taken on an obligation to hospitalized children. Hospital wards are filled with children missing holidays, birthdays, special events, etc. Our plan is to make it easier for hospitals in need of assistance to receive that assistance. The Red Order is able to work alongside hospitals to develop programs that get toys and holiday-relevant experiences in front of children who have no choice but to deal with the stresses of healthcare.

Grouch: We believe each project should stand on its own merits. The meme coin space started with token projects that possessed branding based on recognizable memes from internet pop-culture. Our project aims at bringing depth to the meme coin space, in that a token without a pre-planned use case, can build a successful long-term community rallying around a project with solid, relatable, original content.

Can Meme Coins become a viable investment alternative? Please, can you tell us the reasons for your answer?
Grouch: We believe that anything that is set up in a way that inspires people’s enthusiasm or makes them optimistic about its longevity and future value can be a viable investment alternative. Not every automobile to hit the roads will be valuable, and automobiles in general are not considered viable investment alternatives; however, a niche audience of auto-enthusiasts exist for that investor market. We look at meme coins/altcoin crypto projects in the same light. The space is still developing, and mainstream crypto adoption has barely begun. We are early, and we hope the work we are doing on the Red Order will inspire more well-thought-out projects.

Grouch: We have been working with the community prior to launch on setting up tokenomics, etc. Upon launch, the community will resolve voting rights and voting processes; and decisions made regarding the management of the project growth, will be on the community.

Grouch: We do believe that meme coins have much more room for growth. Crypto adoption is still in its early stages, and opportunities for projects within the meme coin space are flush. The Red Order hopes that it will inspire the next wave of premium projects that will be designed to elevate the sentiment around meme coins.

What are your plans to work across different blockchains?
Grouch:We’ve chosen to launch on the Ethereum blockchain for now. We’re confident in the changes coming to the blockchain and believe it’s the premium chain, at the moment, for a token like ours. We’ll remain flexible, however, as emerging blockchains and technologies continue to redefine what’s possible in the crypto space.

Do you have any plans to extend the Red Order’s activities into the DeFi space? Please, can you tell us the reasons for your answer?
Grouch: The Red Order is already launching into the DeFi space. Whether the other extensions of the project are to be based in DeFi or not will ultimately fall back to the community as they steer the growth.

How can Meme Coins bring about the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies?
Grouch: The biggest challenge, in our opinion, is educating the public about cryptocurrencies. Crypto needs to be inviting and perhaps even fun for the general public to be willing to pay attention and learn about it. Meme coins could be the key. For some of us, finance was the last thing we thought we’d dive into. But participating in some of these meme projects starts to shed light on a lot of information around finance, and how, in a lot of ways, crypto can give users total control over their assets.

What are your thoughts on the regulation of cryptocurrencies?
Grouch: Regulation is needed. Consumer protection is important. The lack of regulation and guidance that we have currently in crypto tells us that the regulatory bodies are taking this matter seriously, and are exploring all the nuances of the space, before handing down guidance. The future of cryptocurrency regulation is promising.

What are your thoughts on the regulation of meme coins?
Grouch: Regulation of crypto is needed in order for the industry to understand how it can integrate and use the technology properly. That goes for meme coins, which because of their popularity, make great means for payment and trade.

What forms of self-governing can the meme coin space adopt?
Grouch: Maintaining a centralized project vision in a decentralized project setting will prove challenging for many meme coins, especially ones whose founders leave the projects prematurely. We plan on a slow, willful integration of new team members from the community that can take over the day-to-day management of the project. We believe the answer to this question lies in the administrative abilities of the founding team, and if we have the aptitude to install the right talent in our place, the token project will be decentralized and long lasting.

Grouch: In 10 years the Red Order will be a household name, with videogames, action figures, and movies telling the story of the Red Order.
