Coverage Briefing

OliveX (BVI) successfully launched it’s very first free Non-Fungible Token (NFT) drop ahead of the release of the world’s first move-to-earn audio fitness blockchain game, Dustland Runner, with over 300,000 connected wallets to date!

Dustland Runner is one of three segments of OliveX’s Fitness Metaverse

                1. Dustland, its move-to-earn fitness games Dustland Runner and Dustland Rider set in the post-apocalyptic future
                2. Partner The Sandbox, where OliveX is building its virtual fitness community on a 12×12 land
                3. Incubator and investor arm, DEFY and Genopets

Ahead of the game’s launch, players who connect their wallet on the Dustland website will be entitled to its first “Kettlemine NFT”, named after the first of the seven settlements in Dustland, which is accessible to anyone with a valid MetaMask wallet.

It is set to revolutionise the health and fitness sector, so that players can have fun, stay active, work up a sweat and even better, be rewarded with DOSE, an in-game utility token, in the process.

Imagine riding 100Km in our cycling game Dustland Rider to unlock a yellow jersey NFT and being able to use that same NFT across multiple fitness games for Dustland runner, rowing and more. We call this fitness 4.0. It’s the evolution of fitness as a game where all the games are now interoperable with NFT’s and tokens.

The Fitness Metaverse also presents the exciting opportunity to drastically increase accessibility for those with physical impairments, as well as reducing geographical barriers for socialising.

While still in its infancy, the possibilities these emerging technologies can offer are already being realised and adopted by global brands, celebrities and a rapidly growing community in wider society.

What is DOSE?

DOSE is an ERC-20 Fungible Token (FT) of purchase, utility and action. It is the heart of the OliveX gamified fitness ecosystem. Players will receive DOSE tokens for completing workout based gameplay in Dustland Runner and Dustland Rider. These tokens can be used to unlock items, purchase NFTs and participate in special events and game modes.

DOSE is an acronym for the chemicals you release when you play an exercise game like Dustland Runner that makes you feel good. Dopamine. Oxytocin. Serotonin. Endorphin.

What is Dustland Runner?

First ever move-to-earn blockchain audio game, Dustland Runner, whose design utilises the proven game engine of Zombies, Run!

Dustland Runner is a health and fitness blockchain game that encourages and motivates people to gain rewards while running (move-to-earn). The work done in the physical world allows players to collect rewards in the virtual world. Real-world jogs, sprints, and dashes move players forward in the game’s narrative.

Players’ physical output is rewarded in the virtual world with digital items in the form of DOSE, the OliveX utility token, which can then be used to make upgrades to characters and access additional features. These collectable digital assets, known as non-fungible tokens (NFTs), can be utilised in-game or traded on the secondary market.

Dustland Runner’s model can be integrated with additional titles including those developed with globally significant brand partners.

What is the backstory?

It’s the year 2272. A powerful solar flare scorched Earth and destroyed cities all around leaving the planet in ruins and survivors scattered. Dustland is what’s left — a ramshackle collection of pirate camps, ghost towns and seven settlements.

Survive and thrive in a post-apocalyptic future — resources are scarce, but opportunity knocks. Run for resources as a Dustcap, find other survivors and discover secrets of Dustland. Your mission is to race over Dustland and save the future.

What is The Sandbox?

The Sandbox is a virtual Metaverse where players can play, build, own, and monetize their virtual experiences. We empower artists, creators, and players to build the platform they’ve always envisioned, providing them with the means to unleash their creativity.

Using The Sandbox’s free software, such as VoxEdit and the Game Maker, players, artists and game designers can create ASSETs and experiences, such as games, dioramas, and art galleries, for themselves and to share with others. These can be monetized to earn the creator passive income.
