Palazzo Avino is a five stars hotel situated in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.
It was originally built in the 12th century as a noble residence and has undergone many transformations over the centuries.

A careful renovation started in 1997 by the entrepreneur Giuseppe Avino, then carried out by his daughters, the sisters Mariella and Attilia Avino, transformed the ancient building into the new place to be in the Amalfi Coast.

Closed for a long time because of the lockdown, the hotel reopened on July 15th, revealing a special capsule collection of seven rooms curated by Cristina Celestino.

The Italian architect reimagined the interiors of some of the most important rooms, including the Belvedere suite, with a terrace overlooking the sea and a private swimming pool. “The concept takes its cue from the wonders of the Italian gardens of Ravello, and the odyssey of forgotten legends of the Tyrrhenian Sea” writes Cristina Celestino on her Instagram page.

Color is the main element that characterizes the interiors and the architect worked with 3 chromatic moods: acquamarine, coral and sand. “The idea came by thinking about the essence of Palazzo Avino and its bond with Ravello and the Amalfi Coast – Perched on the steep cobblestone alleys, the hotel is like a pink mirage amidst terraces of olive and citrus trees” Cristina Celestino.

Furnishing and rugs were designed by Cristina Celestino specifically for the hotel. She took inspiration from the elements featured in the original architecture “color, texture and surfaces, the boundary between earth and sea, classicism and orientalism, indoors and outdoors”. The new designs perfectly reflect Cristina Celestino’s style but also create a dialogue with the building and the surrounding nature.
